A special highlight: Many of the furniture pieces were handcrafted by co-owner Willy Taugwalder in his own workshop, the Zermatt Workshop. The combination of warm wood, elegant metal, and stylish design creates a cozy yet modern atmosphere.

Another personal touch: The atmospheric photos in the rooms are from Willy’s mountain tours as a guide around Zermatt – genuine moments captured from the surrounding alpine world.

We prepare eggs and coffee fresh for you in our breakfast kitchen – whether soft-boiled, hard-boiled, scrambled, or fried. Would you like a coffee, cappuccino, or latte? You decide.

 

If you have allergies or intolerances, we are happy to provide suitable allergy-friendly products so you can fully enjoy your breakfast. Please inform us before your arrival.

We prepare coffee, tea, and eggs à la minute to ensure the best quality.

Breakfast is served from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Sustainability

Sustainability matters to us, which is why we work with local suppliers whenever possible.

In the morning, we serve you specialty coffee from the Zermatt Roastery – locally roasted, aromatic, and sustainable.

During the winter months, our yogurt comes from the Horu Cheese Dairy – authentic regional quality you can taste.

Every morning, fresh bread is delivered from the local baker Bäckerei Fuchs – freshly prepared in the early hours.

Unsere Aufschnitte stammen aus der lokalen Metzgerei – Matterhorn Fleisch.

Swiss eggs, juices, cheese, fruits, and vegetables are delivered several times a week by Stoller.

Other small items, such as butter and soft cheese, we buy from the local supermarket.

Hotel Information

Check-in at Alpenlodge Zermatt is available from 3:00 PM to 9:30 PM.
If you arrive in Zermatt earlier, you are welcome to store your luggage with us and enjoy the day carefree in the village.

If you are arriving after 9:30 PM, we kindly ask you to inform us in advance. This way, we can organize your late arrival and transfer to Zermatt in the best possible way.

Check-out is between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM.
If you wish to depart earlier, we kindly ask you to settle your hotel bill the day before.

On your departure day, you can store your luggage with us and enjoy your time in Zermatt at a relaxed pace – before heading home.

Pets are welcome at our hotel. We charge CHF 10.00 per night for pets.

If your pet stays in the room during the day, the room will not be cleaned.

  • Summer: Free cancellation up to 7 days before arrival; after that, 100% of the booking will be charged.
  • Winter: Free cancellation up to 21 days before arrival; after that, 100% of the booking will be charged.

The non-refundable rate cannot be cancelled or refunded. No refunds will be issued after the 7- or 21-day cancellation period has passed.

If you arrive late or depart early, the full daily rate will apply.

For stays of 2 nights or more, the taxi transfer from the entrance to Zermatt or the Zermatt train station is included. Simply give us a call once you are traveling between Täsch and Zermatt, and we will arrange your taxi.

For additional taxi rides during your stay, you can pick up taxi vouchers at the reception for CHF 20.00 per trip.

Only the two double rooms do not have a view of the Matterhorn.

  • The hotel cannot be held liable for disruptions resulting from political unrest, strikes, natural disasters, or government regulations.
  • If travel to Zermatt is not possible, guests will receive a voucher in such cases. No refunds will be issued.
